Marie Maynard Daly was a biochemist and the first African-American woman to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry in the United States. Her groundbreaking research and dedication to science helped transform our understanding of DNA and its role in human health. She worked to increase access to science education for underrepresented communities and inspire future generations of diverse scientists.

 

Her legacy is a source of inspiration and celebration, a testament to the power of science to drive progress and make a lasting impact on the world. In celebration of Marie Maynard Daly, we at AUGenomics have adopted our J.E.M. Program in the spirit of supporting the increase in diversity and inclusion in science.

About the Program

To support the success of underrepresented members of the scientific space, we offer a 25% Off Discount to all customers who qualify for the JEM Program. Eligible customers may request an application by email (info@augenomics.com). Once this application has been reviewed and accepted, your account will be updated with JEM status and a 25% Discount will appear on your future quotes. 

 

Eligibility requirements:

  • Company must be owned, operated, and controlled by at least 51% by person(s) underrepresented in science and engineering (S&E) according to the National Science Foundation: Native American or Alaska Native, Black or African American, Hispanic or LatinX, Woman, or LGBTQ+ person(s), or person(s) with disabilities

  • Company must be certified by one or more of the following: 

    • Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)

    • Women Business Enterprise (WBE)/ Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program (WOSB Program)

    • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Business Enterprise (LGBTBE)

    • Disability-owned Business Enterprise (DOBE)
